Buyer (Manufacturing Tooling)

Telford, Shropshire

£30k to £35k



A leading Telford based manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Buyer to support a senior member of the team in the delivery of tooling based buying programmes, pre-production activities and tool room services. The business belongs to a larger group and is an environment that offers great opportunities for development and future promotion.



Within the role you will be delivering structured procurement or buying processes to include research and the issue of TTI, RFI, RFQ and similar. You will be buying from a global supply chain so experience of this would be an advantage. You will also be required to undertake regular international travel to meet both customers and suppliers across Europe and Asia.



You will drive processes through to contract negotiation and award with a view to delivering a combination of cost saving targets and added value from the supply chain. You will build excellent relationships with your allocated suppliers and continue to contract manage agreements ensuring accurate and on time supplier delivery and also the continuation of benefit gains from agreements in place.



The ideal candidate will have experience of structured buying processes, experience in the procurement of manufacturing tooling and have the capability to contribute to projects aligned to continuous improvement across the supply chain.
