About Our Client

The client is a large-UK based energy company with bases in both Croydon and Gloucester. They are a company that values procurement, with a particular focus on looking to the future in terms of IT procurement, where projects are scheduled up to 2025.

Job Description

In this role the key responsibilities include, but are not exclusive to:

  • The ability to explore a number of aspects of IT procurement including: software/hardware/software as a service/purchasing of IT infrastructure.
  • Managing individual spend values of 250k.
  • Being involved in the management of a total spend of circa £450m.
  • Ensure that the client's risks are understood and mitigated to an agreed level through effective contracts and development of appropriate professional relationships with our key suppliers and contractors.
  • Generate and record savings.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate should:

  • Have experience within the IT procurement space.
  • Have strong negotiation skills.
  • Be able to engage with stakeholders and promote a successful relationship between the procurement/supply chain function and said stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of contract and commercial law.
  • Communicate effectively, both in the presentation of reports to management and in their contribution in meetings.
