Location: Southsea, England, United Kingdom

Lead Buyer - £27.42 an hour - Portsmouth Based - 6 Month Contract

Reporting to the Supply Chain lead, supporting the day to day Supply chain bid activities, following a strategic structured sourcing process, to carry out appropriate sourcing activities to identify Value for Money solutions within a business winning Project environment.

Experience required for this role:-

* Excellent and broad Supply Chain best practice knowledge and experience
* A breadth of business knowledge and expertise, including good business, market and competitor knowledge as well as depth of vision and creativity and an ability to develop Supply Chain strategy to support business objectives and strategy
* Strong commercial awareness and familiar with terms and conditions
* Good Microsoft skills especially Excel
* The ability to utilise and interpret financial and performance data
* Experience in driving a continual improvement culture through innovation and best practice
* Broad engineering knowledge would be a distinct advantage but not essential Business expertise
* In depth knowledge of Logistics and Supply Chain Management practice Interpersonal skills
* MICPS qualified, working towards qualification or equivalent
