About Our Client

My Financial Services client are looking for people who want to be in a challenging, constantly changing environment full of smart and intellectually curious people. We have a flat organisational structure with few titles.

The Procurement Specialist role is a newly created position for London (England, Europe)

The primary focus of the role is to assist performing all internal and external steps in the purchasing and provisioning process. Growth within the technology group is causing us to expand our logistical capabilities as we tackle new business opportunities.

Job Description

The Procurement Specialist will :

Work with internal teams to proactively manage supplier interactions and meet delivery timeline expectations

Manage full hardware deployment life cycle, from internal purchase decision to delivery and handoff, coordinating internally and externally.

Coordinate efforts with the NY procurement team for global vendors

Keep internal teams up to date on equipment status during hardware deployment projects.

Identify and resolve asset inventory gaps and any related issues.

Maintain documentation for hardware deployment and physical asset management.

Prioritise sourcing decisions to help internal teams meet project delivery goals.

Vendor Relationship Management

Collaborate with internal teams to establish and maintain vendor relationship goals.

Work with vendors to ensure the firm receives consistent and accurate pricing and support levels.

Maintain vendor relationships with suppliers.

Evaluate the market to identify new vendors as appropriate.

Seek cost savings at all levels of vendor relationships.

Procurement / Accounts Payable / Asset Management Collaboration

Assist in maintaining comprehensive physical asset management of technology equipment.

Work with accounts payable personnel to ensure technology invoices are handled properly.

The Successful Applicant

Relevant year's experience in a procurement, sourcing or purchasing role.

  • Ability to evaluate competitive offerings from suppliers and vendors quickly and methodically.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with ease, maintaining organisational standards across each project.
  • Strong organisational skills and project management best practices.
  • Experience in working with vendor contracts, RFP's, and Master Service Agreements.
  • Experience with all aspects of the purchasing workflow.
  • Preferred but not required experience with Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable software (e.g. Oracle)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to add value by suggesting alternative purchase options where appropriate and generally driving efficiency's in the procurement process overall

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with technology hardware components across server, workstation and networking disciplines.
  • Preferred but not required familiarity with a 3rd Party procurement or asset management platform.
  • Ability to conduct in-depth cost and spend analysis.


  • Ability to converse easily with technical personnel.
  • Have a strong interest in technology outside of the work environment.
  • Remember numbers easily, enjoys math, logic or statistics.
