About Our Client

My client are a leading power generation business who are going through a hugely interesting period of change and development.

Job Description

  • Lead the IT Contract, Procurement and Sourcing Strategies and plans, ensuring standard templates and documentation are utilised and decision makers are correctly advised on the appropriate routes to deliver effective commercial outcomes.
  • Provide procurement leadership for all IT purchasing.
  • Develop and implement the IT category management spend solutions delivering demonstrable cost and efficiency savings.
  • Support the IT Department's ~£5m per year plus budget, in compliance with group policies and ensure it stands up to audit scrutiny.
  • Work closely with finance colleagues to ensure purchase orders are processed and invoices paid within service level agreements, meeting the prompt payment targets, and to provide accurate and timely monthly accounts, financial analysis and interpretation of spend and monthly/ad hoc budget reports.
  • Operate as an advocate for business areas to inform IT Strategy and costed plans that underpin effective and efficient strategic, change and operational level delivery.
  • Manage IT contracts and lead service reviews for application, software and infrastructure licences ensure provide usage, cost and account based reports to ensure no breach occurs whilst working closely with the IT Compliance Manager to ensure all audits are passed successfully
  • Develop processes for the management and reconciliation of inventory and asset records and help achieve annual planning and forecasting targets.

The Successful Applicant

  • Demonstrable experience of managing procurement cycles and processes.
  • Strong commercial awareness and drive.
  • Strong skills and expertise in financial reporting areas
  • Ability to innovate.
  • Strong grasp of business strategy and ability to link and adapt procurement strategy appropriately
  • Strong communication and influencing skills (including strong negotiation skills) at all levels both internally and externally with the ability to sell new ideas and ways of doing things. Ability to engage, manage and influence diverse or challenging stakeholders and build professional relationships.
  • Confident and calm under pressure. Able to communicate effectively to all levels of the business.
  • High level of personal integrity and professionalism.
  • A self-starter with a 'can do/will do' attitude who has the energy, drive and commitment to make things happen.
  • Ability to effectively problem solve and identify ways to mitigate financial risks
